Milwaukee Machine Works (MMW) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin is pleased to announce that it has been acquired effective October 2019 and is in the process of being integrated with Allied Machinery’s Richland Foundry Operation to provide a one stop solution for complete engineered machined castings for its original equipment manufacturers (OEM) customers.
The company was formerly a division of Cleveland Gear and maintained its current workforce and management team and experienced no disruption to operations.
This acquisition provides the final building block for MMW and Allied Machinery to expand its North American-based operations and fulfill the promise of providing a complete solution to OEM’s worldwide. The target markets include agricultural, oil and gas, off-highway (construction/mining), wind-energy, and other industrial markets.
Daco Jaw, a division of MMW and one of the nation’s oldest, well-known, and highly respected chuck jaw manufacturers was also included in this acquisition. Daco will continue its operations and sales uninterrupted. The company is best known for providing a safe, reliable, and superior product with fast delivery of both standard and custom engineered chuck jaws and other work-holding accessories. The last several months under the new partnership have welcomed a season of revival for MMW as the decision to merge was solidified just two days before the machine shop was slated to close its doors. The timely acquisition saved the jobs of many individuals in the Milwaukee area and has the potential to have a significant impact on local manufacturing jobs in the next few years.
MMW assures that it will remain a global leader in the engineering and manufacturing of high-quality custom machined castings and assembled components, while providing comprehensive yet affordable service to customers worldwide. Milwaukee Machine Works LLC is slated to become the North American Manufacturing Headquarters for Allied Machinery and, like Allied’s locations in Asia and Europe, shares the vision to offer a complete solution to the international OEM marketplace. The combined companies share a desire to craft value-add, customer-focused solutions while also building a great team and culture.
Looking into the future, MMW and Allied assures that it will remain the same service provider equipment manufacturers worldwide have grown to depend on. The addition of Milwaukee Machine Works to Allied’s U.S. foundry operation provides domestic resources, expands its engineering, casting, and machining capabilities to include ductile and gray iron castings up to 5,000 pounds, provides CNC high precision machining up to 120 inches, and CMM inspection up to four meters with one of the most accurate pieces of equipment in North America.
The company is excited to share additional information about its business venture with MMW and Daco Jaw in the coming months as its partnership has only just begun.
